Why do some women get hemorrhoids when they’re pregnant? What causes this?
I’m just curious why some women get hemorrhoids when they’re pregnant. Is it a hormonal thing?

It has been shown that the causes of hemorrhoids are comparable to the same factors that cause varicose veins and can usually be attributed to one or more of the following: (1) Genetic weakness of the veins in the rectal area, (2) Lack of tone of the rectal area, (3) Too much pressure on the veins causing damage by one or more of tyhe following factors; Constipation usually due to a low-fiber diet high in sugar or refined carbohydrate , Pregnancy and other pelvic congestion or pressure , Long periods of standing or sitting, Heavy lifting and physical exertion, Coughing, sneezing and vomiting and/or Alcohol consumption
The fact that the veins of the rectal area do not have valves have the result that any blocking of the veins in the rectal area often lead to the formation of hemorrhoids.

no..it’s a PRESSURE thing…pressure on the bowels from a growing child…makes the blood vessels BIGGER and more painful…(have a thought.)
pressure from ur utarus stretching and the baby pushing aroung…its just pressure that does it
The fetus does.
most definatley not a hormonal thing,
my sister suffers hemerrhoids from the cause of pregnancy, it normally happens in later pregnancy, simply bacause of the growing baby’s pressure down on the rectum
pregnancy can cause pretty severe constipation and that can bring them on. Also pushing in labor puts strain on the rectum and can cause them at that point
no.
the vacuum cleaner, it really funny because the particals that vacuum cleaners don’t get out are the worst and they circulate the room and give pregnant people hemorrhoids
Its a pain in the butt (literally) but more than half of all pregnant woman experience hemorrhoids. Just as the veins of the legs are more susceptible to varicose at this time, so,too are the veins of the rectum. Pressure from your enlarging uterus, plus increased blood flow too the pelvic area, can cause the veins in your rectal wall to swell, bulge, and itch (hows that for a pleasant thought?) Constipation can aggravate, or even cause, hemorrhoids (also called piles due to the resemblance of a "pile" of grapes or marbles) so the best way sto prevent hemorrhoids is to aviod constipation all together, do your kegels, sleep on your side (not your back), avoiding standing or sitting for long hours, as well as lingering on the toilet…Sitting with your feet on a step stool may help as well……hope i helped
