Hemorrhoid Surgery Archives

I heard that if you have the surgery – they can still come back. What’s the point in having it done? Is it really worth it?

I mean lets say you start eating a high fiber diet for like a year and the hemorrhoids disappear but then you slack off. Will the hemorrhoids pop back up immediately? Is surgery the only way to get rid of them for good?

I’m Worried Because My Father Has A Hemorrhoid And He Has To Go Through Surgery. I Want To Know If It’s A Safe And Short Procedure And If He Would Be Fine Later On After The Surgery. Has Anyone Ever Had A Hemorrhoid Surgically Removed?

I just had it done with laser, 3 large clusters I was told. It is now on day 5 after and I am counting the days. even the hours! until the time I have "heard" I will be back to normal.
If you rate giving birth on a "Pain-scale" of 1 to 10 and it comes in at a 5 then this is so far off the end, I would have to give it a new number of it’s own. Maybe 20?
If anyone has has this procedure recently and can give me a timeline, a REAL timeline, for recovery, just knowing when it will end would make me feel a lot better.
Also if you know of any support groups where people who are in recovery or familar with this situation can "chat", it would be nice to hear from other people.

I just had external hemorrhoid surgery a few days ago. How soon after surgery can I have sex? Will it hurt? Is it possible to hurt my sphincter?
Not a sex addict but sex urges are more intense when you know you can’t do it…lol

I’m scheduled to get a laser hemorrhoid surgery in about a month. I’m pretty scared after reading some horror stories about the pain. Has anyone been through this before, and what can I expect?

The doctor said he wouldn’t bother with it, but I think it’s embarrassing. He said there was nothing I could do short of surgery but someone has to know a home remedy or something for this. I read these were common, then why am I the only person I’ve ever know that has had one? Someone give me some feedback here, please.

I just had a thrombosed hemorrhoid removed. Are my first few trips to the bathroom going to be that bad?

My relative is going to remove hemorrhoids through surgery but I think it will be risky. I want to know is it safe method or not.

At school I have suffered several vicious wedgie attacks by members of the young Republican club and have sustained damage to my crack.

thank you for your replies, i live in the uk where anal dilation is a procedure whereby the surgeon inserts his or her fingers into the anal canal and gently stretches the sphincter muscles. I have heard negative reports about this procedure not least that the US refuses to use it becuase of the risk of fecal incontinence afterwards. I was hoping for a reply from someone in the Uk who has had this kind of operation and how they fared afterwards.

How painful was it?
How much recovery time?
What type of surgery was it, i understand there is like 3 or 4 kinds
How much $$
Would you recommend it?

what if i decied not to do anything whats next,im female age 58 also its continen burning in my stomache it dont go away any more ,what are my opstions

Im going to have surgery next week for my hemorrhoids…..?
what should or shouldnt eat? and did anyone esle have this done? how much pain were you in?

I’m contemplating having this done, not for any particular reason other than it appeared during pregnancy 25 yrs ago and never went away.

If you know anything about it give details as to what the doctors do, what you go through. If there is one I definatly need one.

You understand my embarrassing situation… so I wont speak much.

I need to take a sitz bath after every bowl movement, in order to continue with my day. Even after this, there is pain for at least several hours.

I have tried home remedies with little success.

Please help, this is a severe issue, and I possibly have acquired this from chronic diarrhoea due to IBD.

Thank you very much. I will now bury my head in a pile of sand. (no pun intended!)

The pain is so excrutiating and terrifying. Its unlike anything I’ve ever imagined. I feel like I can go sometimes but when I try I feel like I am going to pass out from agony. What can I do to try to reduce this pain? My doctor is not giving me anything to help and the pain meds dont cut it.

P.S. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROCEDURE UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TO ANYONE!!!
