Can an Ob-Gyn treat hemorrhoids?
I’ve been suffering from painful bleeding hemorrhoids for over 2 years now, since the birth of my daughter. I recently saw a colon and rectal specialist and he told me I had one external hemorrhoid. He didn’t want to remove it because he said it may not be necessary and opted to give me a prescription hemorrhoid cream instead called Analpram. I’ve used it all up already, a 2 months supply but it didn’t help any. I still have pain and bleeding. I recently moved and the specialist is too far from me now and there are no specialist near me, only family practitioners and ob-gyns. Can an ob-gyn treat hemorrhoids? I’m miserable.

Hemorrhoids are a frequent side effect of pregnancy, they may be the best equipped to give prescriptions for hemorrhoids. However, if you are looking to have it removed they may not be much help since their motto is "Everything will clear up after you give birth, just hang in there."
Well, sure. I don’t see why not. If they won’t then they can recommend someone that does. Call around to some GYN’s and see what they say. You’ll know for sure that way.
Why don’t you ask your ob-gyn? What’s the point even asking here? What if I tell you that they can treat it, but the doctor tells you different? Will you say to your doctor: "But a guy on Yahoo told me…"
Yes they should be able to. if not you can go to your doctor and they will. and actually theres over the counter stuff at the stores for it.
