My dog has these bulging hemorrhoids on his butt. I did take him to the vet, and the vet said there is an 00 aprox. surgery he can do for him. I personally think my dog is too fragile for the surgery, and I don’t have a spare 8 grand laying around. Can I put hemorrhoid cream on his butt, to see if it helps at all. Has anyone tried this? okay so i guess i have always had a little round fleshy bump outside my rectum. i never really noticed much about my butthole. anyway i just figured it was normal. it never hurt or made it hard to go. i dont remember not having it. i think i just pushed too hard one time and it didnt go back in. anyway is it normal to have no symptoms at all? is it going to get bigger and make me have to get surgery? right now its about bigger than a raisin but smaller than a grape.
oh btw me and my boyfriend have anal sex sometimes. could that be a reason?

My first child, a daughter, was born on July 27, 2000, and I found I was completely unprepared. I thought I was ready for her birth. I had read my books and articles on childbirth and child care; I had bought everything on my shopping checklist. The nursery was ready for use, and my husband and I were anxiously awaiting her arrival. I was prepared for wakeful nights, endless diapers, sore nipples, crying (both hers and mine), and the feeling that I can’t get anything done. I was prepared for sitz baths and hemorrhoids. What I wasn’t prepared for was the way the entire world looked different to me the minute she was born. I wasn’t prepared for the fact the the sheer weight of my love for her would reduce me to tears on a daily basis. I didn’t know that I wouldn’t be able to get through my first lullaby to her because I wouldn’t be able to sing through my tears. I didn’t know that the world would suddenly become unbelievably beautiful and yet infinitely scarier. I didn’t know that it would seem like a new place had been created inside of me, just to hold this incredible love. I had no idea what it would feel like when the nurse wheeled my daughter in to me saying, "She’s looking for you," and the way the image of her deep-blue eyes looking right at me would be seared in my heart forever. I didn’t know that I could love someone so much it literally hurts, that a trip to Wal-Mart would make me feel like a protective mother bear guarding her cub, or that my first trip to the grocery store without her would break my heart. I didn’t know she would forever change the way my husband and I look at each other, or that the process of me giving birth to her and breast-feeding her would give me a whole new respect for my body. No one told me that I would no longer be able to watch the evening news because every story about child abuse would make me picture my daughter’s face. Why didn’t anyone warn me about these things? I am overwhelmed by it all. Will I ever be able to leave her and think of anything but her, or see crust in her eye or spot on her skin that doesn’t make me nervous? Will I ever be able to show her and express to her just how deep and all-encompassing my love for her is? Will I ever be able to be the mother I so desperately want her to have? I have heard it said, and I now know that it is true, that when a woman gives birth to her first child, there are two births. The first is the birth of the child. The second is the birth of the mother. Perhaps that is the birth that is impossible to prepare for.

I’ve had these dark purple area which has dots under my eyes for about a year now and ive been using hemorrhoid cream but its not helping really. Will putting vitamin e oil on this and leaving it on overnight be ok to try or will this be too heavy? I do have severe depression and have horrible insomnia so that could be contributing to it.

I’ve been readign contradicting information on the treatment of hemorrhoids lately. On the one hand, a lot of sources say that sitz baths are really helpful and they recommend doing them 2-4 times daily. On the other hand, a lot of sources say that you shouldn’t sit on the toilet for too long because that put more pressure on the hemorrhoids. I’ve been doing the baths and the latter seems to be correct. I feel a lot more discomfort and the situation seems to be worsening. Am I doing anything wrong??

So after I take a dump I take a shower and when I wash my butt hole with hott water I get a stinging sensation that lasts for a second or two. I’m wondering whether this is normal or if its a symptom of a hemorrhoid or anal fissure.

So, I have recently fallen victim to the wonderful pregnancy issue of hemorrhoids…fun! I will be giving birth any day now and I can’t help but think how irritated the roids will be pushing the baby out. Is it embarrasing to have roids while giving birth or do you think the dr’s see it all the time that they don’t care? I know it’s common in pregnancy but it just happened and it’s really embarrasing!!!!! Please help!

I went to the doctor two days ago and they discovered hemroids. On that day I had a fever of 99.2 but it seems to have gone down. I don’t have bloody stools anymore, yet I have a slew of other problems. My weight has decreased by 6+ pounds over the span of a few days. Also, they conducted a blood test which displayed a high white blood cell count. The doctor prescribed me Sulfameth and metronidazole. I’m 17 and worried.
My doctor just observed and said he wouldn’t probe any further if he saw an external hemroid. But he said there was probably an internal hemroid that was infected.

does hemorrhoids can b cured only by eating fiber and vegetables and plaenty of water or else must go on for surgery. i hav constipation and even my knees ace and i hav a bak pain too these are all efects of these hemorrhoids or not.even in it gets worst during the preagnancy?so i must cure this berfore my preagnancy or not.or i must stay on my fiber diet.

Since I had my kids I have been plagued with bouts of hemorrhoids. I have awful bathroom habits, eating habits and I really don’t take good care of my rectum. Its bad, and I am now in the process of paying closer attention to what goes on down there since I know I have family History of colon cancer,polyps diverticulits and the like. With that said…I have a nasty bout of hemmorhoids right now. They are definitly thrombosed (clotted). I have had them now for about a week, the clotts have been there probably 3 or 4 days. I used a whole pack of PH supositories with no relief. I have had to have the clots removed once before surgically. Is there a way for the clots to go away naturally? I’ve done warmth, cold for swelling…brings the swelling down but the pea size clots remain. Do I have to go to the drs or will they go away on their own?? Only reason I ask is because my boss gives me hell everytime I need a day off due to health issues and I just hate to have to ask her again…

Any outrageous ideas anyone? Doesnt matter if it sounds silly because my lecturer asks us to come up with something to test our creativity..

we are thinking of an ointment that when applied to hemorrhoids in piles diasease will cause the hemorrhoid to bleed and thus reduce the swelling..

the best that we can come up with is an antibody that will act against the hemorrhoid but that requires specificty.. HELP!

I have external hemorrhoids and sit at a desk for 6-8 hrs M-F. I am having extreme pain and would like to know some "home" remedies to ease or cure them.

I have a serious gastrointestinal issue causing bloody diarrhea and have had this issue for a while. It has also caused me great pain and hemorrhoids. I recently saw a surgeon for the hemorrhoids who said he could not work on them until the gastrointestinal issue, that is causing serious diarrhea, is taken care of.

When I saw the surgeon last week, he examined me with a rectal speculum. Due to the nature of that procedure in addition to the irritation and pain in the area, the speculum caused IMMENSE and unbearable pain.

What I am wondering is… will the gastroenterologist also need to use the speculum, and if so, can i request some sort of anesthesia for this due to the immense pain? I don’t feel like I can deal with that pain again =(

It started about three weeks ago and it started with very little blood. It only bleeds right after using the restroom (#2) and may drop one or two drops of blood. The blood is not dark. I thought it was Hemorrhoids but its been three weeks and only getting worse. Any ideas what I should have? I asked my gyno about a hemorrhoid tag that i’ve had for a year, and she told me that it won’t go away on its own and they only way to get rid of it is surgery. Is this true? It’s not painful, but I do feel self-conscious about it.

Okay, here’s what happened:

I am 11 weeks pregnant, and currently living in Germany with my husband and 19 month old daughter. My husband is a soldier and stationed here. There is not an OB/GYN on post, so I have to go off-post to a German Dr.

For the past few days I have been feeling a lot of pressure "down there" (like in between my pelvic bones, very low) and also in my back end. No I don’t have hemorrhoids and I’m also not constipated. I didn’t feel anything like this with my first pregnancy, so I decided to call my Dr.

He said that I needed to relax more and nap while my daughter naps. The thing is, that my husband has been getting a lot of time off lately because he’s deploying soon, and he’s been taking care of our daughter, and when he can’t be here, she’s really not that hard to take care of. My daughter is very independent and would rather go in her room and play by herself. I really only have to make her food, and change her diaper (tho it does make me sad because I miss spending more time with her) but it works out because then I get to relax during the day.

The point is that I think that my Dr. is wrong, but I have no one else to ask or talk to. So I come to you dear readers, help me.

Also about the pressure, I feel it when I’m sitting and standing, but when I go to the bathroom (#1 or #2) it hurts so much worse. I would actually compare it to when your 9 months pregnant and the baby’s head is in your pelvic bone ready to go, plus some minor pain.
I just called him, because I don’t have a car, and I can’t get a ride there until Thursday (my next appointment) but I don’t think I have a UTI because I don’t have any discharge or anything. Just the pressure and slight pain.
