I have an issue that I would like to address more in-depth, and I’m not sure which sort of doctor I should see for it.
I am a current patient of a colon-rectal surgeon because he removed an hpv lesion a few years ago. About six months ago I went back to that surgeon because I was having symptoms again, but he said it was just hemorrhoids and gave me a cream for it.
Those hemorrhoid symptoms never went away and have changed for the worse lately. I also have some other new symptoms like thin stools, constipation, and I’ve seen mucus a few times in the stool.
I have a long history of digestive problems that I’ve never sought medical help for, and this recent change is troubling to me. I’d like to rule out underlying digestive disorders, or even polyps or cancer.
My actual question is this: can I go back to the surgeon to talk about this? Is it within his scope to diagnose things like IBS, Crohn’s, and that sort of thing? Or would I be better off getting in to a gastroenterologist, which would most likely take a while because I would be a new patient?
I’m going to call around tomorrow, but I expect that both doctors will probably say I can see them. I wonder if any of you know which one would be better, or if it makes a difference at all.
I don’t really want to see a doctor about this, so any home remedies would be best.
Also, i drink an awful lot of coke etc. and i hardly do any exercise… do you think this could possibly be the cause?
Ive also heard that if you have hemorrhoids there with you for life, is that true?
My husband came home one day with hemorrhoids(he is a body builder) and needed medical attention. He went to dr.and was prescribed some medication.There was no way of him being able to apply it, so I cared for him while he was in pain. I had to apply it directly you-know-where.lol He thought it was funny even though he was in pain.lol Anyways, we’ve told some of our closest friends and some laughed while others where grossed out. Is it wrong to care for the person you love? I mean, If It would’ve been me with the hemorrhoid,I’m sure he’d be there caring for my touchie.LOL.

I just had hemorrhoid surgery (staple procedure) 2 days ago and just had my first bowel movement. Afterwards my hemorrhoids seem to be the same as before the surgery. Just as large and all. Someone please let me know if this is okay and normal, orif I need to go back to the hospital.
I am trying t find some answers to a problem that I been having for most of my life from age 6 to 23. well I have notice for years that I have blood in my stool and on the toilet paper. I first notice the problem when I was kid. my mom never took me to the doctor to find out what it could be. last year I went to the doctor to tell them and they said it could be hemorrhoids but now they are not sure what it could be. they never did any exdensive test to find out because of my insurance wouldn’t cover the cost of the test. I did suffer from poor nutrition at the age of four. could that be the cause or some thing else my mother did drink and do drugs when she was pregant with me and could that also be another cause for this problem.

this might seem weird but idk if this is normal in a pregnancy i am 10 weeks now and when ever i do a fowel movement i bleed down there.. idk if thats cause of the hemorrhoids or if its just normal in a pregnancy. my mother in-law says its the hemorrhoids. idk what to say cause i never had them with my first son. so anyone know what is going on? if it is hemorrhoids should i see a dr for it or what?

I have internal hemorrhoids. They started from having a bad case of diahrea. For the first few days they were very painful and now they just itch very very badly. I have had them for a week and one day. I have tried sitz bath, vaseline, preperation H cream, ointment and suppositories and Tucks pads. Last night was the worse they have been, shouldnt they be getting better? I will not have insurance for about a month, so going to the Dr is not an option right now. How long does this usually last, I dont know how much longer I can stand it. The itching is horrible.

I have had bleeding, itching and lots of pain on and off for almost a year now. I’m too embarrassed to go to doctors but now I’m afraid that it could be colon cancer. Both my grandmas had colon cancer. I’m Just wondering if there are any other signs that it might be colon cancer or just hemorrhoids??

Ive been to the doc. and have a tiny smaller then a pea sized internal hemorrhoid.
I consume about 25-30 grams of fiber daily and drink 2-2.5 liters of water daily.
I never sit or stand for more then an hour, or strain during bowel movements.
And I also take a 1000mg vitamin c supplement daily along with a good multivitamin.
And I applied Rue Care Oil to it, it worked really well.
Since I have started this diet and actions it disapeared.
If I continue this lifestyle and apply Rue Care Oil the second it seems
like my hemorrhoid wants to come back should I ever have to worry
about it getting bad.

I have never felt any pain at all they have never protruded, my hemorrhoid is as small as a pin prick. Its an inch inside .

I have external hemorrhoids nd I have been doing all the things that my doctor advised. I went back to let her know that it is not working and she said to continue. I am taking stool softeners, taking warm baths and I sit in the bath for about 20 minutes. I am also using preparation H. They are not getting worse but they are still there. What do I do. Do I start naming them and just consider them as a part of my body. They don’t hurt but they do itch some times.
